Foster Parents Receive More Support than Kinship Caregivers, Study Finds
Science Daily(Feb.28, 2011)- Children who are placed with a relative because of mistreatment at home fare better in some areas than those placed in foster care, but they may have a higher risk of substance use and teenage pregnancy.
Science Daily(Feb.7, 2011)- Children placed with a relative after being removed from their home for maltreatment have fewer behavioral and social skills problems than children in foster care, but may have a higher risk for substance use and pregnancy as teenagers, according to a report in the February issue of Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals. These relatives -- known as kinship caregivers -- appear more likely to be single, unemployed, older, and live in poorer households, yet receive fewer support services than do foster caregivers.

    Dear Mr. Garvin,
I choose to pick the one about Justin Bieber being into charity because when I get out I wanna do the same thing. Doing charity is a good thing and it shows just how much Justin Bieber wants to help the world:)

  3. A study of more than 3,000 students in 20 communities nationwide found that by the end of 8th grade, 12 percent of those who had not reported having seen the campaign took up marijuana use compared to only 8 percent among students who had reported familiarity with the campaign.

The researchers said they believe this is the first independent study to find evidence for the effectiveness of the "Above the Influence" campaign, which was initially funded at nearly $200 million a year when it began in 2005.

  5. Dear mr.G I think that teens should do more
healthier things like eating right not as much
junk food or pop and excrising at least once or twice a day. also i thjink teens should not smoke because they can get un healthy and bad lungs and other things.
so I think kids and even young adults should do the same.

  7. Mr. G,
Children with ADHD generally committed more omission errors than controls. Although the performance of children in the control group also deteriorated after mean nightly sleep loss of 34 minutes for six nights, it did not reach a clinical the study involved 43 children, 11 with ADHD and 32 controls. They had a mean age of about 9 years. After their baseline sleep was monitored for six nights, children were asked to eliminate one hour of nightly sleep for six consecutive nights by going to sleep one hour later than usual. level of inattention on any of the six measures.

  11. Two military guys was shoot and killed. Because when they got off the bus they got shoot for no reason. I think the reason was because they were in the military. And that is very wrong. They were not even in the hands of the president of their person that runs them. Plus they were air craft people. And they were at the airport going to fly towards the place where they had to be at. And then that had to happen. Plus two other people were killed the bus driver and a bus rider. They both were incent. The people that wanted to kill the two men just used them as a back up and shot them first and then got them.
