  1. Dear Ms. Capito,
I believe that victims have the right to request a restraining order if being abused in any way. Nobody should have to go through abuse. Congressman could enforce the law to make the suspects go to jail and stay there. What I could do is to help those who are being abused in any way that I can. Reach my hand out and hope for someone to grab it that trust me.

  2. Dear Mr.Rahall ,
I really don’t think it’s okay at all to stalk , scare or abuse anybody , which
Includes animals. And it can cause a lot of problems and can make people have mental problems ,can lose sleep, and have an panic attack. I have found some reasons people do stalk and I’ve found
Because they want to gain full control of relationship or just get obessed with females and think women are their property. other sexes can do the same mostly 79% of stalkers are males. I also think stalking can get you in jail and I have been stalked before and it’s very tramatic.
    Thank you , sir.

  3. Dear Mr. McKinley
One thing the congressmen can do is stop the old people from getting hurt. The reason why is because I love old people. Some old people don’t even do anything wrong, but they still get abused. But I really do not agree with violence at all because all it does is hurt you and hurt other people.

  4. Dear Mr. McKinley
69 percent of all teens who had sex by age 14 said they have gone through one or more types of abuse in a relationship.
40 percent of the youngest tweens, those between the ages of 11 and 12, report that their friends are victims of verbal abuse in relationships, and nearly one-in-ten (9 percent) say their friends have had sex.
Nearly three-in-four tweens (72 percent) say boyfriend/girlfriend relationships usually begin at age 14 or younger.

  5. Dear Ms. Capito,
I think teen and youth violence is crazy!! I mean why would you make someone feel upset or make fun of them because they’re different. I mean we have a lot of people out there and they get bullied every day, because they’re gay, have different colored skin, or talk a different language. I used to be a bully and I HATED IT!! I did it to make myself feel better and it just made me feel worse. Now sometimes I get bullied, well what goes around comes around. I We the United States of America should use the GOLDEN RULE!! DO you know what that is? Its treat others you want to be treated. Yeah, some people don’t do that and it makes me very frustrated. I mean I don’t expect all the people in the world to be perfect. You have people sneaking out and wanting to “invite” a geek from school to a party. You tell them if you want to be cool you will do this drug and drink this drink. Unfortunately the geek does it because he/she wants to be cool. I seen in happen before and it not fun. I want people to be who they want to be. If people don’t like you for whom you then screw them. Let them think whatever they hell they want to. You know who you are then who cares what other people think. I should take my own advice sometimes. I know some pretty intelligent people in my cottage. And that’s every single one of my peers in my cottage.

  6. Dear Mr.Mckinley,
Victims of abuse crimes should have the right to sue the abuser for any medical problems. They should also be able to get a restraining order that actually protects them. The congressmen could set up some kind of bank that could help with expenses of a lawyer. I could write a letter to the congressmen making a statement of how I feel about these issues. I can not force them but I can try and help out.

  7. Dear Mr. Rahall,
Everyday there is a kid in the world being kidnaped by a parent or other family member. It is not parental kidnaping if one parent is informed of where the child and the other parent/ family member are going. It's still not right though. My little brother almost got taken by his real mom when he was about 2 or 3. We was at my grandpa's funeral and she was stalking me and my little brother. In order to protect him I had to act out physically because she was trying to hurt him. I couldn't let that happen. See things like this go on everyday. Anyone has a right to a restraining order if it is neccesary. You can help us by passing a better law about child abduction that states the rules very clearly. It would help a lot I think. It all goes down to how specific each law is passed, what is stated in it, and how it is worded. The only thing I can do is help show others the right path in life and help teach them right and wrong. I have to use what God has given me and work around what he didn't. He did give me love, and the feelings to care for others, and sympathy. If that doesn't help maybe God doesn't want me to help in that manner. I'm willing though, to do what I can!!!!!!

  8. Dear Mr. Rahall,
Everybody has the right to be protected, even the victim. When you feel unsafe around a person you should be able to file a restraining order. When I was little my mom filed a restraining order against her husband at the time. It stated that he was not supposed to be within 100 ft. of her or her children. He made all of us feel unsafe. He broke the restraining order 9 times but still nothing happened. My mom was a victim in an abusive relationship. The cops did nothing. We kept calling, but no one showed.
Plenty of people are victims of different kinds of different situations. Like my mom, abusive relationships, some people are victims of people stalking them, elders getting abused by family members or care takers, parental kidnapping, and a lot of others.
When a person files a restraining order they should be protected. The person they file the order against should not be allowed around them. The police should be doing their job and in force the order.
Honestly there is not much I can do. I’m just a teenager. I can try to protest against all the things listed and a whole lot more, but there is not really that much that I can do.
I am asking you if you can help me take a stand for all the victims. We should take a stand for the people who are going through or have been through similar that my mom went through. I will be really appreciative if you help these people. Even the ones that are scared to speak up about the situation they are in.
    Thank you ,
    Emily Renee

  9. Dear Mr Mckinly dating violence is controlling, abusive and aggressive behavior in a romantic relationship. It can happen in straight or gay relationship. It can include verbal, emotional, physical, or sexual abuse, or a combination of them. I think that if you are in a violence relationship then you need to remove your self don’t stay in the relationship where your going to get hit or where they make you do things It’s not right to anyone and know one deseves that wether you made a mistake you still don’t deseve it no matter what you did everyone makes mistakes. If you know someone who is in a abusive relationship help them tell the you are worried about them and that they need to find a safe place to go where he/she can not find you to hurt you or anything like that. It helps to talk about your problems and not let other people get you down don’t let anyone abuse you in anyway no matter what walk away and if you can’t call for help do something that will help you don’t stay in that perdiument.

  10. Dear Ms. Capito
I think we need more protection in New Cumberland. Lasts Saturday my cousin Chris White was jumpedby three guys. There was a girl that video taped and posted on facebook. The three guys got put in jail but the girl didn’t. I think the girl should get juviniale charges. It started over a 4 wheeler .The boy Who started the fight was Matt. Then people started interfering because Chris was winning. I really couldn’t do anything because I was at home with my aunt.

  11. Dear Ashley Jade,
I totally agree with you and i don not think it is okay for anyone to stalk anyone! It is wrong and it can cause a lot of physical stress along with emotional stress. There should be a rule that puts stalkers in jail for at least 2 years. My brothers real mom stalked him when he was with me. I had to be physical for her to leave me alone. Anyways, I think it is not okay to stalk someone. I also agree that there are more male stalkers than female even though there are female stalkers. The only thing you can do is take precaution. Hopefully this stuff stops!!!!:) LOV YA!

  15. Kayla,
I think that would be good if she got in jail to. Because that is not right to do when someone gets onto a fight. She should not tape someone when they get into a fight.

  17. Dear Brittany,
I have been in a similar situation. My mother had just filed a restraining order from my little brother’s dad. For about a month everything went well. No sign of him, nothing. One day he pulls up in our drive way and snatches my little brother put of my mom’s hands. He took him out of the state. We had no idea where he went, what he did, we knew nothing. It was a scary situation. When we finally did get to see him again he was terrified. He wasn’t the same little kid that was so joyous to be around.
Now we all should know that if you file a restraining order you should be the one to call the cops if that person comes around. Not all people do that. It really sucks that people would spend money to keep some one that could hurt them sexually, emotionally, or physically.
